Staying in work

Jobs in Mind offers a specialist programme of practical support, advice and guidance to help you to stay in work if you're experiencing difficulties with your mental health.

Our programmes are individually tailored for each of our clients, and we will work with you and your employer to support you in getting back to your job.

How we support you

You will be provided with a named Employment Advisor who will conduct an in-depth assessment to identify your current situation. This will enable both you and the advisor to put together a comprehensive action plan which will be regularly reviewed to ensure that your current needs are being met.The Employment Advisor will approach your employer (with your consent) to introduce the service and how we can support both you and your employer in supporting you to stay or return to your current job if you are off on sick leave.Jobs in Mind will provide this service free of charge and will support you and the employer through the process to support you in getting back to your job.

On-going support

Jobs in Mind will support you to identify work related stress factors, negotiate reasonable adjustments and a phased return to work plan. The support offered by Jobs in Mind will be reviewed on an on-going basis. We need to strike a balance between supporting you but not doing it for you.

Partnership working

Jobs in Mind work in partnership with the Improving Access to Psychological Therapy teams who can assist you with additional support around your mental well-being. Jobs in Mind can refer you to this service, ask your Employment Advisor for details.Jobs in Mind also works in partnership with Jobcentre Plus, further education establishments, training providers, employers and other advice and guidance services.

Peer support

Jobs in Mind also offers a peer support group to enable clients to meet up and talk about their experiences and share ideas in how to approach issues at work. Clients have found this a very useful resource as clients sometimes feel that their situation is only happening to them. By meeting others on a regular basis clients are provided with additional support and tools.Contact us for more information or to refer yourself.Jobs in Mind return to work services in primary care are funded by Westminster NHS, Camden NHS and Department for Work and Pensions.
